Ishiuchi Maruyama was born in 1949, just after the end of World War II.
At that time, Tokyo was still in the midst of postwar reconstruction.
Even so, many skiers were drawn to the pure white snow and the desire to reconnect with nature — and so began the story of skiing in Ishiuchi.

In those early days before ski lifts existed, our family started out as a small guesthouse.
Later, we ran a lodge at the base of the mountain that served both meals and lodging.
Then, in 1988, we relocated to this mountaintop area overlooking all of Uonuma, opening the restaurant you see today.

Spur continues its journey from past to future —
together with all those who have loved, and continue to love, these snowy mountains.
